Summary

RG Carter Ltd is seeking to recruit an Apprentice Assistant Site Manager to join their established team of professionals, based in their Drayton office. The successful candidate will be dealing with a diverse range of interesting and challenging projects across multiple sectors, working on sites over Norfolk.

Wage

£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist the Site Manager with the daily operation of construction sites.
  • Support the coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
  • Monitor site safety and help ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and report any issues or concerns.
  • Help maintain accurate site records, including progress reports and documentation.
  • Assist with quality control checks and snagging inspections.
  • Attend site meetings and contribute to project planning activities.
  • Support the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and customers.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Training schedule

At college one day a week.

On-site with experienced members of staff.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade C/4 or above)
  • Maths (grade C/4 or above)
