Located in Dunstable, they work closely with designers, architects, contractors, and developers through initial conception to final handover, ensuring that all requirements are satisfied and a truly considered, buildable solution is delivered. As a Fabrication Engineer Apprentice, you will learn every aspect of the fabrication process while working with experienced mentors. Your duties will include:

  • Learning to fabricate bespoke architectural metalwork from steel and stainless steel.
  • Assisting in the manufacture of products such as staircases, balustrades, handrails, balconies, gates, railings and other bespoke fabrications.
  • Developing skills in MIG and TIG welding, grinding, cutting, finishing and assembly.
  • Learning to safely operate fabrication equipment, machinery and hand tools.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical information.
  • Measuring, marking out and preparing materials for fabrication.
  • Assisting with quality inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and company standards.
  • Working with glass components where required as part of completed assemblies.
  • Following all company quality procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Working closely with experienced fabricators, supervisors and installers to develop your knowledge and practical engineering skills.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 3/D)
  • maths (grade 3/D)
