Summary

We are looking for a motivated, organised and professional Dental Receptionist to become part of our welcoming team at NHS Dentist, a long-established practice serving the Fulham and Earl's Court communities for over 27 years. 

Wage

£27,040 a year

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive or contact the practice.

Working within our busy reception team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the front desk while always delivering outstanding customer service.

At work you will be: 

  • Welcoming patients in a friendly, professional and caring manner.
  • Managing appointments and clinician diaries using EXACT dental software.
  • Answering telephone calls, emails and patient enquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Booking, amending and confirming appointments.
  • Processing patient payments and handling billing queries accurately.
  • Managing referrals and correspondence.
  • Liaising with dentists, nurses, hygienists and treatment coordinators to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
  • Resolving patient queries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.

  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements

Minimum 1 year experience as a Dental Receptionist.
