Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Receive and check deliveries, ensuring stock is accurately recorded and stored safely
  • Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Support stock control activities, including stock rotation, inventory checks and reporting discrepancies
  • Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods, using warehouse equipment where appropriate and trained to do so
  • Work closely with colleagues across the supply chain to ensure products are available and delivered on time
  • Use warehouse and stock management systems to update records and support efficient operations

  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade 4 or above)
