Summary
Timsons Engineering in Kettering are looking for three Machine Shop Engineering Apprentices. This apprenticeship will enable you to gain your engineering qualification. You will learn all about milling, turning, CNC machining, gear cutting, grinding and so much more.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The purpose of post is to produce high quality components.
What will you be learning during this apprenticeship?
All aspects of:
- Milling
- Turning
- CNC Machining
- Gear Cutting
- Grinding, and Inspection
You will work to instructions given both written and verbal.
Ensure job times are recorded.
Ensure the correct use and maintenance of PPE and equipment supplied.
You will perform all task with due regard to health and safety and keep all workings areas tidy.
And learn all tasks within the knowledge and responsibility level of the post.

About this employer
Timsons Engineering’s subcontract engineering services offer a diverse range of premium quality castings in various weights from 1kg to 2.5 tonnes plus a CNC machining service that can accommodate every casting poured. The iron foundry facility has two modern electric induction furnaces designed to produce high quality castings in small to medium batch quantities in all grades of grey iron, SG iron and Austempered Ductile Iron. Quality is assured. We hold accreditation to ISO 9001:2015 for both our machine shop and our iron foundry. We offer 100% inspection of all components and have co-ordinate measuring, balancing and gear inspection equipment.
