Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Help the teacher and TA in class to work with the children, set up activities, supervise children
- Generally work as part of a team in the classroom environment.
- There may be some personal care with our SEN children and one to one with them but within the classroom environment under superivsion of the teacher and TA.

- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Training schedule
They will get a lot of in class training on how to encourage, nurture and teach reception children following the early years curriculum. They will also have their out of class training time.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade Pass)
- Maths (grade Pass)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
