The successful apprentice will receive £8.00 per hour during the first year of the apprenticeship. Pay will increase in line with National Minimum Wage legislation after the first year, subject to age and apprenticeship status.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Learn to set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Produce high-quality parts safely and accurately.
- Use manual machinery and a variety of hand tools.
- Assist with machine set-up, proving and production processes.
- Work alongside experienced engineers and manufacturing staff.
- Follow health and safety procedures and ISO quality standards.
- Help maintain a clean, organised workspace using 6S principles.
- Develop problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
- Work towards a Level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship qualification.

Training schedule
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
More training information
The successful candidate will undertake a fully funded engineering apprenticeship programme, designed to support the development of technical knowledge and practical engineering skills relevant to the forging industry.
The training provider will be Train'd Up and you will attend 1 day per week via virtual classroom, accompanied by an assessor visit every 8–12 weeks.

GCSE in:
- English (grade grade D/3/Level 1 Functional S)
- Maths (grade grade D/3/Level 1 Functional S)
