About this employer

Crofton Engineering is a long-established small-medium enterprise.  We are specialist sub-contractors in the construction industry.  We take a job from Architects and Engineers drawings; we produce the fabrication drawings, fabricate the steel and install or erect it on site. We also design, manufacture and install our own products of Fire Training Towers, Buildings and Structures for the Fire & Rescue Service.

After this apprenticeship

Your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship. Find out about potential future pay (opens in new tab).

The prospects are to either become a workshop fabricator, who can make steel into intricate shapes; or a site welder/fabricator – welding steel on construction sites using different techniques. There may be further opportunities, after welding skills have been mastered, to go into the drawing office and learn detail design draughting and, in time, to project management of construction projects or into estimating and the commercial side of the business.
