You’ll be working within the classroom with young people with the aim of working with the wider team to lead a healthy school in order to achieve the highest possible standards and prepare all our pupils to lead successful lives by challenging educational and social disadvantages.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- A - Class Charts is used effectively; staff are setting weekly homework and issuing points on a 4:1 ratio
- B - Attitude to Learning reports are issued on a weekly basis; this will be used by Tutors to set targets and communicate to parents/carers
- C - Analyse parent/carer and pupil usage; to then support and challenge parents/carers and pupils to improve usage
- D - Ensure half termly rewards for attendance are organised; rewards to be discussed with HT/equivalent
- E - Develop effective strategy to reduce exclusions
- Attendance: ensure the register is taken in line with DfE guidelines. Attendance should be tracked, analysed and patterns identified, with the overall aim of ensuring that attendance is improving
- Exclusion: after consultation with the Head Teacher ensure that exclusion are administered using the school process
- Education visits: ensure all risk assessments are up to date and that colleagues are following the correct process

Training schedule
Teaching Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship with Access Training 1 day per month on Team Valley.
Internal training on policies and procedures including risk assessment, safeguarding, prevent.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
You will be working with young people that have been excluded from mainstream education that are between the age of 11 and 16. You’ll need to be hard working and resilient with a strong outgoing personality.
You will be expected to support with other ad hoc duties as and when required.
