£12,480 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Apprentice to provide support for children and teachers both within the classroom and PE. 

The chosen candidate will have a strong background in Sports Coaching as well as helping our children make progress from their starting points within the classroom. If you are reliable, friendly and proactive, please think about joining our hard-working team.

Duties will include:

  • Work with individuals or small groups of children under the direction of teaching staff
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils supported
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher

  • Apply methods of formative assessment.
  • Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

English , maths and a Science subject (grade A-C or 9-4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
