Summary
Your role will be supporting the finance team in their day-to-day transactions, maintaining financial records and systems, assisting with bookkeeping tasks and being able to communicate with various stakeholders.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
A normal day would include:
• Managing day to day transactions
• Maintaining financial records
• Assisting with bookkeeping
• Reconciling bank statements, credit card transactions
• Posting journals
• Raising and posting bank transactions
• Support month end tasks
• Monitoring a shared finance inbox
• Dealing with varying stakeholder across the departments e.g. sales, marketing, pre sales
• Being able to handle/direct finance queries
• Support the wider finance team
• Progress to supporting debtors process
• Communicate via email and in person
• Ad-hoc requests & tasks as and when suitable’/required

Full training and support will be provided by The Growth Company to help you achieve your apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role. Along with full support of the wider finance team throughout your formal training and beyond.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade A*-C/9-5)
- Maths (grade A*-C/9-5)
