Summary

Responsible for ensuring availability of parts, improving quality, profitability & supplier performance. Be developed & coached by the team to gain a thorough understanding of manufacturing supply chain processes, also gain an understanding of engineering parts through exposure to our machine parts & manufacturing processes.

Wage

£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Working with the engineering and production teams to ensure availability of new parts and products
  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager with improving quality, delivery and cost including both internal manufacturing and suppliers where necessary
  • Maintaining our database including loading new sales and purchase orders to the system
  • Sourcing and booking transport, considering vehicle requirements, delivery location and timings
  • Allocating stock to machine builds with the stores manager to build a kit of parts for manufacturing
  • Completing database stock checks and ordering where necessary to ensure continuous supply of key parts
  • Picking and packing sales orders to meet our customer’s requirements
  • Working with the stores manager to book in and locate deliveries
  • Identifying over/under stocks and working with the team to find solutions
  • Maintaining stores area housekeeping to ensure parts are well organised and easy to locate
  • Other tasks as required

  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C or above or equivalent)
  • Maths (grade 4/C or above or equivalent)
