We are searching for an enthusiastic Apprentice to work in the Early Years Unit at King Edwin Primary School. We need a caring and committed Apprentice that embodies all of our High 5 school values and that wants to ‘make a difference’ every day for all of our KingEdwinners.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
What will you do in your working day?
Are you someone who is energetic and enthusiastic?
Can you develop a good relationship with children whilst promoting independence?
Can you work alongside the class teacher in order to personalise the curriculum?
Can you manage behaviour effectively and support children to regulate their behaviours?
- Your job will be to work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils
- To assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom
- Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area, with direct support available from the teacher or senior member of staff

- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.
- Apply strategies to support and encourage the development of independent learners.

Training schedule
You will be working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
You may also need to work towards Level 2 functional skills in maths and English if not achieved at GCSE.
How the training will be delivered is to be confirmed.
Requirements
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
