As part of Bristol City Council we pay our apprentices Real Living Wage, this is £13.45 per hour for over 18s and under 18s will receive 80% of the RLW which is £10.76 per hour.
The role is Term Time + 5 inset days 39 weeks

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Deliver tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis
- Support pupils to stay engaged and on task during lessons
- Assist with behaviour management and promote positive learning
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development
- Help with reading activities and monitor pupil progress
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom resources
- Provide feedback on pupil progress to teaching staff
- Carry out basic admin tasks and support classroom organisation
- Support pupils’ wellbeing, including during accidents or distress
- Assist with extracurricular activities and school trips

Training schedule
The apprentice will attend the Filton Campus of SGS College on a weekly basis, term time only.
More training information
SGS College will support apprentices to develop the full range of knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the Standard.
Apprentices will receive comprehensive guidance to build their portfolio, and the College will also facilitate completion of a Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Once on-programme learning is complete, apprentices will progress to the End Point Assessment, which includes a practical observation with a question-and-answer element, submission of a portfolio of evidence, and a professional discussion. Full time apprentices will spend typically 18 months on-programme working towards the apprenticeship standard, with a minimum of 20% off-the-job training.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 and above)
- Maths (grade 4 and above)
