We have an opportunity for a well organised individual to take their first steps towards a career in Construction Site Management with a specialist mechanical and electrical contractor. The project comprises a refurbishment of the East Coast College campus in Great Yarmouth.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assisting Senior Managers – Support Project & Site Managers in planning, organising and coordinating construction activities
- Documentation & Reporting – Learn to maintain accurate records of the project activities such as daily diaries, progress updates & documentation of any incidents or changes
- Project Planning – Participate in project review meetings to understand project requirements & timelines
- Site Supervision – Learn to oversee construction sites, ensuring adherence to our safety protocols and quality standards
- Progress Monitoring – Monitor the progress of construction activities, identifying potential delays or issues, and implementing corrective measures when necessary
- Quality Control – taking photos of completed works and uploading onto site management folders
- Communication – Liaise with internal and external stakeholders

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Apply and integrate appropriate mathematical and technical knowledge in the completion of built environment site and/or office processes to contribute to the coordination of construction projects.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and procedures. Identify and document risks and hazards. Apply statutory and company environmental and safe working practices. Produce construction project risk assessment and method statements.
- Communicate verbally to internal and external stakeholders using a range of techniques in line with company policies.
- Interpret and abstract contract documentation to develop site solutions.
- Apply digital construction processes to produce resource lists from tender and contract documentation.
- The use of project tendering, measurement and costing systems to assist with the planning of schedules of work and to provide early warning of problems for all contract phases on site.
- Plan, carry out and manage own work in line with management requirements, assessing tasks, scheduling work, achieving deadlines, reviewing performance and keeping records of work undertaken.
- Apply sustainable principles and low carbon processes in order to implement site environmental solutions.
- Use information technology. For example, for document creation, communication, and information management. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Plan and undertake continued professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance competence in their own area of practice.
- Communicate in written form to internal and external stakeholders using a range of techniques and reporting mechanisms in line with company policies, using construction and built environment terminology.

The training is delivered remotely though online learning with a trainer and other apprentices
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4/C)
- Maths (grade 4/C)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
- We are looking for someone who lives in Great Yarmouth or the surrounding areas.
- Has their own transport or is able to reliably get to site by public transport.
- Is willing to take the CSCS test.
- Due to working directives and number of hours on site, applications can only be considered from applicants aged 18+

Training & Apprenticeships in Construction Ltd (TrAC) is a DfE approved Flexi Job Apprenticeship Agency who will employ you for the duration of the apprenticeship and pay your salary. You should be aware that you will be placed with a host employer but you will not be employed by them. Your placement may change during the course of your apprenticeship but TrAC will employ you throughout, as well as continuing to support you into employment or further learning at the end of your apprenticeship.
