Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Prepare and submit letters of authority to providers and chasing these through to completion, alongside summarising the information for Financial Advisers
- Liaising with product providers to obtain valuations, quotes, and other information for Financial Advisers
- Preparing simple annual review letters for clients
- Submitting protection applications, bereavement claims, and bond assignments and surrenders, and chasing these through to completion
- Processing risk questionnaires and providing Advisers with results
- Responding to client queries professionally via telephone and email and greeting visiting clients
- Answering all incoming calls and accurately taking information and notes to pass on messages promptly
- Managing meeting room bookings
- Handling all incoming and outgoing post and distributing this as required
- Sending out client satisfaction surveys
- Binding reports and preparing documents as required for adviser appointments
- Ensuring all relevant compliance, internal business documents, and provider documents are completed and held on the firm’s back-office system
- Ensuring all tasks are carried out and completed in line with company policies and procedures as well as all compliance and legislative requirements
- Dealing effectively with colleagues, product providers, and third parties
- Supporting the wider Support Team, including providing assistance where required
- Proactively contributing towards building your own knowledge and experience in financial planning advice and the financial planning industry
- Reasonable ad-hoc and other duties, as required by the company

- Deliver customer service to internal and or external stakeholders that meets their requirements, considering service level agreements, and ethical and financial regulations, such as Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, Know Your Customer (KYC), and identifying and supporting vulnerable customers.
- Collaborate with and support financial services teams with planned and ad-hoc tasks or projects.
- Identify potential risks and align tasks with company guidelines to effectively mitigate risks, escalating where appropriate.
- Escalate issues where appropriate in line with organisational policies, procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Use digital systems and processes to meet business and customer needs, considering financial services regulatory and governance requirements.
- Handle data safely and securely and share information in compliance with data protection legislation and organisational policy.

Training schedule
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The office is located at Nottingham Business Park (NG8 6PY) and is accessible via local bus routes and the Nottingham tram network. Free on-site parking is also available. Due to the location of our office, applicants should ensure they can travel reliably to Nottingham Business Park for a 9.00am start.
