Summary

Ark Walworth Academy is a vibrant and diverse school in central London, seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice, supporting pupils’ learning and development while gaining hands-on experience and a recognised qualification.

• Wage:

  £14,768 a year

  • The apprentice will be paid the apprenticeship minimum wage for the first year; ;
  • After the first year, they will be paid at least the National Minimum Wage for their age group

• Training course: Teaching assistant (level 3)
• Hours: Hours: 35.5 hours a week. Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 4.00pm, including a 50-minute break.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

• Provide tailored support to pupils in class and in small groups
  Support students with additional needs, including SEND and EAL
• Work alongside teachers and the SENCo to support learning plans
• Help deliver targeted interventions and booster sessions
• Assist with behaviour management and promote positive engagement
• Adapt and prepare learning materials and classroom resources
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff
• Support students during lessons, break times, and activities
• Provide general pastoral support and help with school trips

This role offers hands-on experience supporting students while developing key skills in education.

Training schedule

• Training will take place within the workplace (school setting) while completing the apprenticeship
• No college attendance required
• Apprentice will complete online learning modules alongside their role
• Monthly online webinars will be delivered as part of the training programme

The apprentice will gain hands-on experience during their scheduled working hours while building knowledge, skills, and behaviours for the qualification

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

• English Language (grade 4/C)
• Maths (grade 4/C)
