Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Hardall International Limited have been designing, manufacturing and installing bespoke chute systems since 1983. Our unique heritage still shapes the way we do business today. By consistently creating optimal disposal solutions for a variety of applications inclusive of Recycling, Refuse, Linen and Clinical waste, Hardall have rightfully earned the status of market leaders in their field.

You will have the opportunity to learn to; operate sanders and relevant fabrication machinery and welding equipment, folding sheet metal, manufacturing chute doors, installing rubber sheets, identifying potential improvements to equipment and communicating these to the site, working safely under the company's Health and Safety guidelines and work with the continuous improvement teams to improve the overall efficiency of the plant and equipment.

The successful candidate will work in Dunstable for four days a week and attend day release at Bedford College to achieve Level 2 Engineering Operative course delivered over 24 months.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 2)
  • maths (grade 3/D)
