Summary

You will work as a picker/packer, receiving inbound stock, checking product and codes, prepare goods for despatch, assist in stock control, inventory checks, load and unload both vehicles and warehouse racking whilst working towards a Level 2 Supply Chain qualification.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Firstly you will be part of an amazing team and will work collaboratively with both your team members and supervisors. 

  • You will assist the Warehouse Manager, Unload and Load bulk stock
  • Support with individual orders both inbound and outbound
  • Help unload containers
  • Work to tight timescales/deadlines
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers by email and telephone
  • Assist with the Event Services sector, work across a number of different functions in the warehouse including customer orders, goods in, returns, stock replenishment, order bundling
  • Work with the warehouse management system
  • Onboard customers and assist them with their inventory. 

In addition to this you will also work on the various platforms we use for distribution of our products around the world.

  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

Training schedule

  • In addition to gaining practical experience in the role, you will also attain an NVQ Level 2 Supply Chain qualification which will help start your career and give you an insight into the businesses processes and procedures
  • Our training is all completed remotely via teams with a development coach who will be available for support 24/7 and will arrange weekly/fortnightly meetings with you
  • You receive 20% off-the-job training during this apprenticeship which is included in your weekly working hours

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths & English (grade 3/D or above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
