Summary
We weld pipework with Mig, Mag, Tig and Stick on a thickness range from 6mm up to 35/40mm carbon steel plate. Once you have mastered the welding and are fully qualified, you will progress onto the fabrication side.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- You will learn to weld pipework with MIG, MAG, TIG, and Stick on a thickness range from 6mm up to 35/40mm carbon steel plate
- Once you have mastered the welding and are fully qualified, you will progress onto the fabrication side
- The fabrication side will be a lot harder and takes you longer to master, but you will be able to start from small fabrications and work your way up
- You will be provided with the tools and support to learn and grow
- You will be provided with a mentor who has trained all of our young staff (including apprentices) over the last 10 years. He is successful in ensuring potential is released

You will be required to attend Advance II Campus, Dudley College, DY1 4AD, 1 day per week in term time only.
- Upon successful completion you will receive a Engineering Operative - Fabrication & Welding Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification
- You will be assigned an assessor who will visit you in the workplace every 6-8 weeks and support you on your apprenticeship
- Functional skills may be required alongside this apprenticeship

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:

We are a heavy engineering company that manufactures carbon steel pipeork for the water industry. Pipe fabrication and welding is a trade that is on the decline, we want to pass the skills from our current workforce onto the new generation.
