Summary

You won’t be just an apprentice to us; you will be one of the faces of our well-established company, which specialises in providing quality, stylish home furniture rental. Delivering, installing and collecting furniture as well as helping to maintain a tidy and well-organised warehouse is what you will do.

Wage

£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  •  Become part of a team that takes responsibility for delivering, installing and collecting furniture and accessories
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of vehicles
  • General warehouse housekeeping tasks
  • Prepare and check outbound customer order
  • Check out of all stock items using the handheld device (following training)
  • Complete delivery/collection paperwork to a consistently high standard

  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 3 or D)
  • Maths (grade 3 or D)

  • Good level of fitness due to lifting furniture
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, with early starts whenever necessary
  • Live no more than a 30-minute drive from PE28 2DY and have the ability to get to and from work, preferably with their own transportation
