We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice to join our team specialising in Finance for our Cummins Generator Technologies business unit in Peterborough. During your apprenticeship, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Post monthly and quarterly journal entries
- Prepare Balance sheet reconciliations
- Support with close checks
- Manual entry of bank payments and cashbook entries
- Support to maintain the lease system and Fixed Asset (Addition/Disposal)
- Complete monthly VAT returns
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Obtained the equivalent of GCSEs in Maths, English Language and Literature at grade 5/B or above, including a 4/C or above in 3 other subjects taken
- A Level equivalent qualification in Maths or Accounting/Finance related field or an AAT Level 2
- Proficient IT and MS Office skills (including Excel)
- Good communication skills and reliable
- Proactive and action orientated
- Detail orientated and organised to manage your own workload

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Training schedule
The training with the provider will be remote, 1 day per week.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- 3 other subjects (grade C/4 or above)
- Maths & English Language and literature (grade 5/B or above)
A Level in:

AAT Level 2 in:
