Summary

We are seeking graduates or A-level leavers to join our apprenticeship pathway from administration to Trainee Financial Adviser within 3–4 years. You will gain hands-on experience across financial services, supported by colleagues and directors in a company that values growth, development and internal progression.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

The administration role is expected to last for a minimum of 18 months and includes:

  • Answering incoming client telephone calls
  • Setting up meetings for advisers and clients
  • Attending the quarterly team meeting and taking minutes
  • Inputting and maintaining accurate information relating to the advice process and clients
  • Gathering policy information and adding details to our back office system
  • Processing incoming post
  • Preparing valuation letters for clients
  • Providing administration support to advisers in order to support the flow of the initial and ongoing advice processes
  • Contributing ideas for enhanced administration processes
  • Adhering to regulatory requirements and code of conduct

  • Deliver customer service to internal and or external stakeholders that meets their requirements, considering service level agreements, and ethical and financial regulations, such as Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, Know Your Customer (KYC), and identifying and supporting vulnerable customers.
  • Collaborate with and support financial services teams with planned and ad-hoc tasks or projects.
  • Identify potential risks and align tasks with company guidelines to effectively mitigate risks, escalating where appropriate.
  • Escalate issues where appropriate in line with organisational policies, procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Use digital systems and processes to meet business and customer needs, considering financial services regulatory and governance requirements.

Training schedule

The Financial Services Administrator apprenticeship is ideal for learners beginning an entry level role in the financial sector.

As an entry level role, this apprenticeship provides the foundation knowledge, skills and experience for progression along a number of career paths.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

5 subjects including maths and english (grade 4 or above)

A Level in:

minimum 2 subjects (grade A-C)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

You must be able to make your own way to our offices in Telford.

You must be willing to maintain your role in administration for a minimum of 18 months, and you must be willing to maintain your role in paraplanning (following completion of your administration role) for a minimum of 18 months.

After this apprenticeship

Following completion of the administration apprenticeship, we will look to enrol you on the paraplanning apprenticeship. The paraplanning role is expected to last for a minimum of 18 months and includes:

  • Researching suitable products that align with the advisers' recommendations
  • Completing cashflow modelling
  • Ensuring client fact finds contain all relevant and accurate information
  • Completing research for pensions, investments, and protection recommendations as well as inheritance tax planning solutions
  • Writing suitability reports for advisers to present to clients
  • Contributing ideas for enhanced paraplanning processes
  • Adhering to regulatory requirements and code of conduct

On completion of the above two stages, your progression and future focus will be discussed, including whether you want to proceed to become a trainee financial adviser. At which point, your journey towards your chosen area in financial services can begin.
