At Den Hartogh we’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Customer Service Apprentice to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge to progress into a Customer Service role.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As part of the apprenticeship, you will support the Customer Service team with a variety of administrative, customs and operational activities, helping to ensure customer deliveries run smoothly from start to finish.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management of transport orders from customer request through to delivery
- Building positive relationships with customers and internal departments through professional communication
- Assisting with customs administration and ensuring documentation is accurate and completed on time
- Inputting and maintaining accurate customer, operational and financial records within internal systems
- Liaising with Operations, Logistics, Finance and Sales teams to support smooth service delivery
- Assisting with problem solving, customer queries and service issues
- Supporting KPI reporting, operational updates and customer information
- Learning how service performance, transport planning and customer expectations are managed
- Developing an understanding of logistics processes, customer requirements and commercial impacts
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to enhance customer experience
Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll gain a strong understanding of how our Customer Service and Operations teams work together to deliver innovative logistics solutions and excellent customer service.

What you'll learn

- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
