Summary

The Edwin Group are recruiting a Marketing Apprentice. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting campaigns, events, content, digital channels and performance tracking learning how marketing drives awareness, demand and sales in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Wage

£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

In this role, you will support the day-to-day activity of the marketing team and develop an understanding of how marketing contributes to the wider business. We will support you to develop skills across the following:

Campaigns and demand generation:

  • Support planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels
  • Understand audiences, and assist in targeting and refining messages for different segments (e.g. MATs, school leaders), using research and competitor analysis to support

Content and channels:

  • Create and adapt content for different channels (brochures, web, email, social, internal)
  • Support content in channels such as Hubspot, Survey Monkey and website CMS, as well as social platforms, ensuring content remains accurate and effective
  • Assist in scheduling, optimisation and audience engagement

Events and sales support:

  • Working with the team, support planning and delivery of events, webinars and campaigns that engage prospective clients and key audiences
  • Help develop marketing materials that support sales conversations (presentations, case studies, testimonials)

Insight and performance:

  • Support tracking and reporting on campaign and channel performance
  • Assist with basic analysis of what’s working and where we can improve
  • Carry out research on audiences, competitors, market trends, and industry movements

Ways of working:

  • Positively collaborate across the marketing team and wider teams
  • Contribute to activities to facility the smooth operation of the marketing team
  • Take ownership of learning and apply apprenticeship development within own role

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Training schedule

Day release one weekly online.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade Grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
