Summary
Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, a key role within the overall project management team, providing services to our clients nationally. This role will be based in the south-east of England and working alongside an experienced Quantity surveyor within our business for mentoring, support, guidance and training.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
On completion, the expectation is that this candidate for apprentice Quantity Surveyor will ultimately lead to the candidate having the experience, training, knowledge & approach required to be a Quantity surveyor within the Dalkia vusiness. Our Dalkia quantity surveyors are generally responsible for ALL financial & commercial aspects of a project from inception to completion.
This will comprise the following headlines of activity: (not limited to these headlines)
- Project cost control including variations & instructions
- Control of Work in Progress (WIP) & debt
- Completing the content of the purchase orders
- Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for each project – cost plan tracking and ownership of project costs in full
- Raise payment certificates & invoices for the project
- Attending client progress & valuation meetings
- Sub-contractor performance & valuations
- Account & payment queries
- Assisting with quotes & tenders
This role will potentially require further attendance of training courses outside the apprenticeship course

Training schedule
- As well as guided on-the-job training specific to our organisation, you will study towards your Level 3 Surveying Technician Apprenticeship programme delivered by Capital City College Training Group on a day release basis
- A tutor will be assigned to you, and you will receive protected study time within the workplace
- You will also get support from our apprenticeship team through mentoring and buddying
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4-9)
- Maths (grade 4-9)
