After this apprenticeship

SGH has been in business since 1978, founded by Kevan Howarth, the MD of a large Bolton-based toolmaker. His son, Stephen Howarth, was an apprentice at the same firm and joined his father in setting up the business, becoming the Managing Director shortly after 2000. SGH was bought by Jalex Futures Ltd in 2024, investing in people, facilities and equipment.

SGH operates over 5 sites in Bolton, Greater Manchester, including production facilities, warehousing & dispatch, offices and clean room, so there are plenty of opportunities for career progression.
