Summary

Keystones is an award winning, independent team of estate and letting agents in Colchester who are looking for an apprentice to provide support to the lettings department. Duties will include managing the rental properties, whilst advancing their learning in Housing Property Management.

Wage

£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Working week Monday to Friday, 08.30am – 5.30pm (with 1 hour unpaid lunch). Saturdays 08.30am- 4.00pm One in four Saturdays to be worked, but you will receive a day off in the week in lieu.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a hunger to learn and have a career in the lettings industry. 

Responsibilities are to include but not limited to:

  • Providing full administration support to the department by answering telephone calls and emails
  • Working alongside the sales progression and lettings teams
  • Interacting with customers on social media
  • Completing data collection
  • General office tasks
  • Keeping a log of energy performance certificates
  • Tagging property keys
  • Helping our sales team collect feedback from viewings
  • Conducting supervised viewings, gathering feedback, and updating the company CRM system
  • Working with colleagues
  • Managing the office diary
  • Maintaining good client relationships between the agency and the landlords via regular communication
  • Take on any required tasks of the office as and when needed

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Customer Service: Apply a range of customer service skills in order to provide a professional, accurate, timely, ethical and non-judgemental front line service which meets the needs of a diverse range of customers and stakeholders
  • Communication: Demonstrate appropriate communication skills to enable timely identification and/or resolution of issues for customers and appropriate signposting to other colleagues and/or partner agencies.
  • Collaborative working: Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to achieve individual, team and business targets.
  • Respond to vulnerability: Use skill and judgment to understand the needs of vulnerable individuals and groups(including those with complex needs) and respond appropriately
  • Information collection and sharing: Use a variety of methods to identify, collect and communicate technical and other information in a confident and effective manner.
  • Influencing and negotiating skills: Influence and negotiate with customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Self Management: Organise and plan their own work to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines met.
  • Problem Solving: Use a problem solving and flexible approach in their day to day duties.
  • Tools and Equipment: Effective use of IT equipment and software, through administration and the appropriate use of work equipment
  • Decision making: Effective decision making in order to apply the businesses objectives and priorities.

Training schedule

  • The apprenticeship programme duration is 18 months and you will achieve Housing and property management (level 3)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English and ICT (if required)
  • You will be based in the employer’s office so you will gain 18 months’ office-based training

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

English (grade 4)

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
