Summary

The Cyber Security Apprentice, working within Secure Managed Services, will gain hands-on experience across the Service Desk, Platforms, and Professional Services. This rotational role builds a strong foundation in IT operations, security best practices, risk and compliance, and client-focused service delivery.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Your job duties will include:

  • Support day-to-day incident resolution and service requests on the Service Desk, developing troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Assist with infrastructure and cloud platform tasks, learning how secure environments are built, maintained, and monitored.
  • Work within the Professional Services team on project-based work, contributing to solution design, implementation, and documentation of secure systems.
  • Within the Security Operations Centre (SOC), the apprentice will assist in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, helping to protect client environments in real time.
  • Working alongside the Risk and Assurance team, gaining insight into how secure systems are assessed, documented, and maintained to meet compliance standards and mitigate operational risks.

  • Able to demonstrate a ‘security mind-set’ (how to break as well as make).

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
