Opportunity to work as a LSA, supporting students in the classroom
You will assist teachers with lesson support, provide one-to-one and small group support & cover for 1:1 staff when needed.
The role allows you to develop practical skills in education, behaviour management and student support.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Support the classroom with behaviour management, helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and on task
- Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and overall classroom organisation
- Deliver targeted interventions to individuals or small groups to support progress
- Work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing tailored support
- Adapt activities and provide encouragement to help pupils access learning
- Complete tasks set by the class teacher, such as preparing resources and supporting lessons
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 or above)
- Maths (grade 4 or above)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
