As a Food & Beverage Team Member Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience serving customers, preparing food and drinks, and delivering great service while studying towards a qualification.

£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

What you'll do at work

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service
  • Take food and drink orders and process payments
  • Prepare and serve food, drinks and coffees
  • Assist with setting up and clearing tables
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment
  • Support the team during busy service periods
  • Promote menu items and daily specials to customers
  • Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures
  • Assist with stock rotation and checking deliveries

Training schedule

  • Complete the Level 2 Food and Beverage Team Member Apprenticeship Standard
  • Attend Southampton College on a day-release basis
  • Receive hands-on training at Bayside Cabin working alongside experienced staff
  • Build a portfolio demonstrating your knowledge, skills and behaviours
  • Receive ongoing support from a Professional Trainer
  • Complete an end-point assessment including observation, a business project and professional discussion

Bayside Cabin is a well-loved seafront café and restaurant located at Stokes Bay in Gosport, Hampshire. Established in 1998, the business began as a family-run mobile catering van serving freshly made baguettes and sandwiches. Due to its popularity with locals and visitors, the café was developed on the same site and officially opened as Bayside Cabin in 2006.

Today, Bayside Cabin is known for its relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and freshly prepared food made using high-quality ingredients. The café works closely with local suppliers, including award-winning family butcher Owtons and local fruit and vegetable supplier The Fruit Basket, ensuring fresh produce is used wherever possible.
