Summary

An apprentice Teaching Assistant Level 3 is required to join our team. We wish them to share our educational philosophy on the provision of high-quality, creative learning opportunities with a view to developing the whole child. 

Wage

£13,520 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

You will be paid the National Minimum Wage for your age when you turn 19 and have been on your apprenticeship for atleast 12 months.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Under the guidance of teachers, the successful candidate will be involved in working with individuals or small groups of children to support the education, personal and social development of pupils and establishing positive relationships to assist pupils complete structured learning activities.

Duties may include:

  • Support to implement learning activities working with individual or small groups of pupils
  • Support to assist the development of varying skills that support pupils' learning
  • Support in producing learning resources
  • Support to assist in pupil supervision
  • Support in monitoring and recording of pupil progress and developmental needs
  • Reporting pupil progress to the teacher
  • Work within the schools policy and procedures
  • Working to the relevant apprenticeship framework and completing work in a timely manner
  • To undertake any of the duties normally associated with a Teaching Assistant to support with their training and development

  • Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals and stakeholders.
  • Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
  • Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
  • Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
  • Apply methods of formative assessment.
  • Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.
  • Apply strategies to support and encourage the development of independent learners.

Training schedule

The apprentice will be trained in their workplace, they will also have an assigned Educator from Heart of England Training.

Requirements

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
