Work

What you'll do at work
Ryeland Toolmakers are offering an exciting opportunity to join our skilled engineering team and learn the highly respected trade of Toolmaking from industry experts.
What you'll be doing:
From day one, you’ll be learning on real projects, using real machinery, and developing skills that can set you up for life.
You will:
- Work alongside experienced, friendly toolmakers who will mentor you one to one
- Learn how precision press tools are manufactured from start to finish
- Use professional metal cutting machines including Horizontal & vertical milling machines, Pedestal drilling machines, and Surface grinders
- Progress onto advanced engineering equipment e.g. CNC milling machines and EDM wire cutting machines
- Build confidence, technical ability, and problem-solving skills every week

- Good timekeeping
- Willingness to learn
- Conscientious and reliable
- Able to communicate and work as part of a team
- A driving licence would be helpful but is not essential

Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Delivered by attending one day a week to Milton Keynes College. Apprenticeship standard subject to change to Toolmaker and Tool and Die Maintenance Technician on enrolment.

Essential qualifications
“GCSE” in:
- “Maths” (grade 9-5)
- “English” (grade 9-4)
GCSE in:
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
