What you'll do at work

Are you passionate about sport, community wellbeing, and helping others thrive? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Community Activator Coach (Level 2 Apprentice). This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills, gain recognised qualifications, and play a meaningful role in inclusive community programmes.

About the Role:

As an apprentice, you’ll support and help deliver a range of community-focused activities designed to improve health, wellbeing, and social connection. You’ll be part of a welcoming and supportive team, working alongside experienced coaches and dedicated volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

Support our community-driven programmes, including:

  • A weekly Sporting Memories dementia club
  • A walking sports programme
  • Love to Move sessions for individuals with cognitive conditions
  • Assist coaches in delivering junior tennis, cricket, and hockey sessions, with the opportunity to gain Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications
  • Help develop and grow our schools outreach programme, working with local primary and secondary schools (with guidance from Head Coaches, progressing to leading the programme independently)
  • Learn how to research and write grant applications to support new and existing community projects
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the club, including reception, membership support, and front-of-house duties

  • Will be required to support and ultimately run coaching sessions which be outdoors in all weathers
  • Own transport would be a benefit to enable candidate to drive to fixtures or local school to support our Outreach Programme
  • The role includes an element of office work requiring customer contact and administration tasks

After this apprenticeship

The role could potentially develop into a full-time role developing the community aspect of the Sports Club activities, processing grant applications and assisting on coaching programmes as well as providing essential administration support to ensure the safe and profitable running of the Sports Club.
