Summary

The Manufacturing Operative Apprentice supports the production team with assembling, inspecting, and packaging products while developing practical skills. The role combines on-the-job training with formal learning to gain hands-on experience and a recognised qualification.

£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  •  Assist with the assembly of products in line with work instructions and company procedures.
  •  Carry out basic quality checks under supervision to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Report any defects, faults, or concerns to the Production Supervisor.
  •  Support the packaging of finished goods for safe storage and dispatch.
  •  Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area. Learn and develop skills across different areas of the production process as part of the apprenticeship programme.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Grade 4/C or above)
  • Maths (grade Grade 4/C or above)
