Summary
DB Cargo UK currently has an exciting opportunity to join our Maintenance team as an Engineering Apprentice. As an Engineering Apprentice, you’ll support the maintenance, repair and overhaul of Traction & Rolling Stock and associated components. Due to Health and Safety, the apprentice will need to be at least 18 years old.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- To maintain/overhaul and refurbish rolling stock in accordance with the relevant regime and specification
- This includes, but is not limited to, fault finding, rectification work, damage repairs, modification and work arising
- To ensure that stock levels are kept and stock is stored correctly.
- To order/reorder stock as required
- To carry out damage reports/overload inspections on behalf of the customer and provide all documentation including photographs when required
- To submit quotes and final costs for 3rd party work
- Complete all relevant documentation relating to all work carried out on any rolling stock vehicle
- To correctly file/store all rolling stock documentation

GCSE in:
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will move to a Mon-Thurs working week with the potential of overtime on Fridays. The apprentice must be at least 18 years old, due to Health and Safety.
About this employer
We provide freight, infrastructure and passenger charter trains throughout the UK, and freight services to and from mainland Europe via the Channel Tunnel. We also provide traction and train crew for scheduled passenger operators.
