Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As a valued member of our close-knit team, you will be fully involved in client work from the outset, including:
- Preparing board meeting agendas and digital meeting packs
- Preparing agenda cycles and corporate calendars
- Preparing skeleton board minutes and following up on actions
- Preparing induction packs for new directors
- Drafting AGM Notices and related documentation
- Undertaking routine compliance checks against applicable regulatory obligations, e.g. AIM Rules, Listing Rules
- Reviewing annual report disclosures against applicable corporate governance codes
- Maintenance of digital statutory books and records
- Filing statutory and regulatory notifications with the relevant authorities (including Companies House)
- Maintenance of Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) records
- Technical research into client queries concerning legal, regulatory and governance matters
- Supporting Board Evaluations

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Interpret regulation, legislation and governance practices and advise and train stakeholders on its practical application.
- Establish, maintain, and influence relationships with key stakeholders and team members.
- Use IT systems to manage, share and store information in accordance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
- Communicate complex information through a variety of media to enable key stakeholders to understand what is required.
- Review instructions, following them to a conclusion through the execution of tasks.
- Identify and use precedents adapted for specific circumstances such as resolutions, announcements, reports.
- Produce work which is factually accurate and well presented for submission to the members of a decision-making governing body and for publication by the organisation.
- Develop and maintain structure charts for the organisation.
- Plan and prioritise their workload to meet deadlines.
- Maintain and organise forward looking plans and calendars, keeping relevant stakeholders informed of upcoming events such as meetings, reporting timetables, compliance deadlines.
- Gather, analyse, use, and share data to inform the decision-making process and make judgements on actions to take.
- Identify problems and present potential solutions to stakeholders.
- Respond to stakeholder questions and requests, knowing when to consult with others or escalate on matters of a more complex or sensitive nature.
- Identify and implement improvements to support the governance of the organisation.

Training schedule
The role combines practical, on‑the‑job learning whilst working towards a Level 4 qualification in Corporate Governance with 1 day per week for apprenticeship studies. The apprenticeship is delivered virtually, and you will be working at our London office.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 6)
- Maths (grade 6)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
- Holds (or will achieve before September 2026) A-levels (or equivalent) at grade ABB or above
- Achieved minimum of eight GCSEs (including English and Maths, at grade B/grade 6 or above).
