Summary

The apprentice will learn to safely and efficiently operate machinery and equipment in our manufacturing facility. This apprenticeship offers training and mentor-ship, preparing for a successful career as a skilled operator within a high tech production environment

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You will:

  • Learn how to process materials to the required production plan, quality standards and the applied standard operating procedures
  • Learn and adhere to all saftey regulations and company policies Report any equipment malfunctions or production issues to supervisers
  • Maintain a clean and oprganised work area
  • Participate in all required training and educational programms
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process

  • Apprenticeship includes time in college (1 day each week) working towards the Level 2 Engineering Operative qualification
  • With in-house employer /mentor giving guidance and support with all practical skills and knowledge elements working towards the EPA (end point assessmenst exams to complete the apprenticeship

The apprenticeship is completed by South Tyneside college and the employer, with 4 days in work and 1 day in college with potential maths and English Functional skills included , (depending on previous achievements)
