Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Your job duties will include:
- Work with the Class Teacher to deliver high quality teaching and learning across the curriculum (including literacy, numeracy and ICT), support pupils with classroom activities and understanding lesson instructions (including preparing the classroom for lessons, and clearing away afterwards) and supporting pupil behaviour
- Use a variety of communication methods, which may include symbols and signing alongside the spoken word and use of IT programs
- Act as a role model for pupils and to be a positive influence on their behaviour and performance at school
- Ensure pupil safety by supervising including outside of lesson times
- Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriateaccompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and other out-of-school activities
- Comply with all Trust policies and procedures including but not exclusively related to: - child protection/safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, security and GDPR
- Participate in training, contribute to team meetings and participate in the Trust’s appraisal programme

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)
