Summary

You will be creating design orientated models using traditional Model-Making techniques alongside the latest technologies, you will have the opportunity to develop and add to your existing skills as a member of a small team.

Wage

£14,560 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

In order to strengthen and enhance our team we require a person who can assist in the production of various types of high-quality models, including presentation models, architectural models, concept models, process models as well as product design and prototyping.

Duties will include:

  • The production of scaled models using a variety of drawing types
  • Working with a variety of materials using varying workshop machinery
  • Working efficiently towards project deadlines
  • Working as part of team in order to achieve project goals

Requirements

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Level 4)
  • Maths (grade Level 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

  • Knowledge of 2D CAD, Adobe Illustrator is desirable but not essential
  • Experience with using workshop machinery such as circular saw, band saw, pillar drill, disc sanders and hand tools
  • Experience working with laser cutting, CNC routing and 3d printing would be an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings is essential
  • You will sometimes be required to work away and possibly unsociable hours if completing a project installation
  • We would start off training the successful candidate to use the graphical programs and perform laser cutting tasks
  • We would then expect the candidate to learn/refine other relevant skills as required to support the production of other types of models and creative projects
