Wage

£14,560 to £23,132.20, depending on your age

National Minimum Wage

Monday to Friday, Term time only. Hours to be agreed, depending on sporting clubs, sometimes before or after school hours. Fixed tem contract for duration of the apprenticeship.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Support the PE Lead and teachers in delivering engaging PE lessons, sports activities, and fixtures
  • Plan and run extracurricular clubs, including breakfast, lunchtime, and after-school activities
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and active environment for all pupils
  • Support pupils’ physical, emotional, and social development, including those with additional needs
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Prepare and maintain PE equipment and learning resources
  • Assist with school events, competitions, trips, and swimming sessions
  • Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community and ethos

  • Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals and stakeholders.
  • Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
  • Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
  • Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
  • Apply methods of formative assessment.
  • Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.
  • Apply strategies to support and encourage the development of independent learners.

Training schedule

Training for this qualification will be provided by ourselves at SCCU Group, an Ofsted good training provider. You'll recieve a monthly 1-1 tutor led session by a dedicated tutor throughout your training, with activities to complete during your off the job time within working hours.

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4+)
  • Maths (grade 4+)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
