Summary

We have an excellent opportunity for an Apprentice Trainee Site Manager to join our busy Housing Partnerships Team team based in Greater Manchester. You will ensure client satisfaction with the work process in delivering a defect free result, maintain and control financial aspects of the contract, plus much more.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist the Site Manager in managing contractors and labour forces on site to consistently deliver value to the highest standard of workmanship. 
  • Assist in ensuring that appropiate resources, plant and materials are available to complete to the required standards with the agreed timescale.
  • Assist the Site Manager to ensure all works are carried out and monitored in accordance with current legislations, regulations and environmental standards. 
  • Input to improving Health & Safety management practices. 
  • Ensure client satisfaction with the work process in delivering a defect free result. 
  • Assist the Site Manager to maintain and control financial aspects of the contract, and deliver the project's profit in line with business requirements.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Training schedule

  • Construction Site Supervisor Level 4.
  • You will attend Salford University one day a week throughout your apprenticeship programme. 

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4-9)
  • Maths (grade 4-9)

A Level in:

any subject (grade BC or DDD)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

You will work on site 4 days a week and will attend University one day a week. This role will involve you working outdoors and there will be heavy lifting involved.
