£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning machines.
    Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
  • Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and program adjustments as required
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure all parts meet quality standards
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineering or programming teams to resolve them
  • Keep accurate production records and follow established workflow processes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health and safety guidelines
