Summary

To assemble, fit and prove-out manufactured components and sub-assemblies to the required drawing, tolerance and quality standards, supporting on-time delivery of bespoke fixtures and precision parts.

Wage

£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Interpret engineering drawings, job packs and build instructions
  • Fit, assemble and align parts using hand tools, jigs and fixtures
  • Deburr, fettling and hand-finishing as required to meet specification and safe handling standards
  • Carry out basic measurement and checks using standard metrology equipment
  • Complete travellers / work orders, including sign-off and status updates
  • Identify fit/tolerance issues early (including tolerance stack) and escalate with clear detail
  • Support rework and continuous improvement activities to reduce repeat issues
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area, following PPE and H&S requirements
