Summary

We are a specialist engineering workshop offering sheet metal fabrication, welding, and light engineering, with a focus on competition cars and motorcycles. The team are looking to recruit for an Apprentice sheet metal worker and fabricator.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Main roles and responsibilities:

  • Read drawings, pick material, cut, fold, grind and weld
  • Clean and inspect completed work
  • Materials used are steel, aluminium, stainless steel, titanium and Inconel
  • Contact with all members of staff and report to Richie
  • Applicant will work within all aspects of the workshop

  • The learner will be studying the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification
  • Day release to West Suffolk College

Requirements

Desirable qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

Maths and English (grade 3-9)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

The apprentice will be hands on with rare and interesting vehicles. The work will be vary varied and all workshop based in a small friendly team.
