Summary
As an Apprentice Wastewater Treatment Operator at our abattoir, you’ll play a key role in helping the site operate safely, sustainably, and in line with environmental standards. Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll learn how to run and maintain our wastewater treatment processes.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Throughout your Level 3 Waste Water Treatment apprenticeship programme, you’ll gain hands‑on experience and will include:
- Monitoring influent quality
- Adjusting treatment processes
- Carrying out routine sampling
- Completing plant checks and supporting the day‑to‑day running of the effluent treatment plant
You’ll also learn how to identify issues early, escalate problems, and contribute to ensuring the site meets all consent limits and environmental compliance requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and learning how essential environmental systems operate within a busy food production environment.
As mentioned, you don’t need experience - just the right attitude and the drive to learn!
