Don Bur (Bodies & Trailers) Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for a Trailer Body Build Apprentice to join their company to assist in the assembly and fitting of bodies to trailers and rigid bodies.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Learning how to MIG weld steel up to 12mm thickness
- Learning how to weld other materials such as stainless steel, alloys, etc.
- Learn how to operate CNC lasers
- Learn how to operate robotic welding machines
- Become fully competent in the use of hand and air tools
- Understand how to read and work from detailed fabrication drawings
- Become capable of working to demanding deadlines
- Complete off-the-job training and portfolio work as part of the apprenticeship program

After this apprenticeship
Once the probation period is over you will be placed on an NVQ training course to become a fully qualified Fitter. We are invested in continuous career development throughout your employment and a keen interest in engineering is crucial for this role. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will achieve a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification.

As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications such as the Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard. You will also achieve Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills), as well as a Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge).
