Wage

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist in the assembly and fitting of lifting deck systems for trailers and rigid bodies
  • Learn to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely
  • Prepare and position components for lifting deck installation
  • Carry out quality checks and report any defects
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Complete off-the-job training and portfolio work as part of the apprenticeship programme

After this apprenticeship

Once the probation period is over you will be placed on an NVQ training course to become a fully qualified Fitter. We are invested in continuous career development throughout your employment and a keen interest in engineering is crucial for this role. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will achieve a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications on completion of the apprenticeship

As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications such as the Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard. You will also achieve Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills), as well as a Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge).
