Summary

Merits Plastic Mouldings are technical experts in the design and manufacture of plastic injection mouldings. They are currently looking for an apprentice Production Technician to join and learn within their team.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Main roles and responsibilities:

  • To undertake any relevant training courses to become a Production Technician on completion of the training.
  • To learn how to start up and run production machines, including any troubleshooting and process improvement requirements, following company work instructions.
  • To learn how to carry out efficient and effective job change preparation.
  • To learn how to monitor tool condition and maintenance.
  • To learn how to carry out quality checks, including first-off submission.
  • To learn how to maintain active inter-departmental coordination, communication and co-operation.
  • To learn how to work in compliance with all statutory rules and regulations.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

Maths and English (grade 4-9)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
