Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You will embark on an exciting learning journey, gaining experience in:

  • The heavy maintenance overhaul of rolling stock
  • Electrical and mechanical light maintenance activities
  • Collaborating closely with the Team Leader to execute a variety of tasks, gaining valuable skills under expert supervision.
  • Upholding the highest safety standards by strictly following Vehicle Maintenance Instructions and local procedures, ensuring a secure work environment
  • Diligently using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety regulations to maintain a culture of safety and professionalism

  • Due to the requirements of the role you will attend college in a block release period therefore there will be a requirement to spend time away from home in Crewe whilst at college
  • This will be 3 weeks 3 times a year (9 weeks in total)

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

English, Maths, Science (minimum 4 GCSE's) (grade 4 / C and above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
